ARISE Japan Public Symposium 2018: Private sector contribution to disaster resilient communities

ARISE Japan is hosting its third annual public symposium. The 2018 symposium will explore how the private sector may contribute to resilient communities through a multi-stakeholder panel discussion with panelists representing government, local government, civil society, academia, and the private sector.

This symposium is open to the wider private sector and other stakeholders.

Date, time, location: 7 March 2018, 15:00-17:30, in Tokyo (see flier). Registration opens 14:30. Event will be followed by a reception at 17:30. This is a free event, however, advanced registration is required (see online registration link).

15:05 Welcome remarks by co-organizer - UNISDR

15:20-15:50 Keynote speech by Itsuki Nakabayashi, Professor, Graduate School of Political Science and Economics, Meiji University, on the role of the private sector in creating disaster resilient societies

15:50 Activity report by ARISE Japan

16:00-17:30 Multi-stakeholder panel discussion on how private sector may work together with other stakeholders in order to contribute to the creation of disaster resilient communities
