Turkey: Photo exhibition to celebrate the International Day for Disaster Reduction

On 13th October, different types of occasions are organized all over the world in order to increase the awareness of the public about how to act to reduce the disasters. Turkey is in a geography that is very prone to disasters and has high risk. Natural happenings can not be avoided but it is possible to reduce the effects of disasters by taking measures. With the aim of building disaster resilient society, lots of projects have been conducted by AFAD in order to increase the knowledge about prevention and mitigation, accelerate the education activities, use the modern technology and communication facilities, improve the regional and international cooperation and also to activate the sustainable development and sustainable environment system.

In this context, a photography exhibition about the disaster photos has been organized in the Cepa Shopping Center. In the occasion, the search and rescue team, equipment and dogs of Ankara Provincial Directorate of Disaster and Emergency were also there.
