Third south-south citizenry-based development academy

The Third South-South Citizenry-Based Development Academy is scheduled on 22-26 November 2010 (inclusive of arrival and departure) in Central Bicol State University of Agriculture (CBSUA), Pili, Camarines Sur, Philippines. The primary aim of the South-South Citizenry-Based Development Academy (SS CBDA) is to provide capacity development support to citizenry based development oriented disaster risk reduction initiatives in the Asia and Pacific region, as well as inter regionally.

The CBDA provides a venue for communities to share and learn from one another, share analysis of risks and community problems, and exchange solutions and options. Meanwhile, the academe, NGOs, government, private sector and other stakeholders are actively engaged and learn from communities. The South-South Citizenry Based Development Academy will be an opportunity for participants to explore the development of community disaster resilience platform in the region.
