Romania: 82nd anniversary of Civil Protection Day

Each year, on February 28th, Romania celebrates the Civil Protection Day. This year, on the occasion of the 82nd anniversary, "Petrodava" Inspectorate for Emergency Situations of Neamt County will organise an earthquake exercise, aiming at providing information concerning the behaviour that should be adopted during an earthquake and immediately after its occurrence.

The event will be developed in cooperation with the County School Inspectorate, involving all schools in Neamt County.

Therefore, on 27.02.2015, at 09:45 am, all the alarm devices will play the disaster alarm signal. Over 35,000 pupils will be involved in this activity, which represents an attempt to motivate pupils towards disaster prevention and resilience, according to the priority of Hyogo Framework for Action (HFA).

During the exercise, an information and training campaign on earthquakes "Don't shake for the quake" will be carried as well.
