About
Join us for a panel with researchers and industry leaders as they examine strategic approaches to managing aging infrastructure.
The discussion will address structural risk evaluation, computational modeling of deterioration in concrete systems, innovative inspection and imaging technologies for prestressed structures, and advanced strengthening solutions such as memory-steel applications. Dr. Michael Lacasse will discuss the effects of climate-related stressors on the built environment and their implications for long-term structural performance. Dr. Emre Erkmen will present the role of numerical simulation and computational mechanics in assessing aging structural systems. Industry speakers from VSL International and Re-Fer AG will share practical perspectives on inspection methodologies and smart retrofit technologies currently applied in practice.
This conversation is designed to foster dialogue between research and implementation, with a focus on practical engineering strategies for evaluating risk and intervening in aging infrastructure systems.
