Fiji's National Disaster Management Office (NDMO), along with Act for Peace and Fiji Red Cross, is celebrating National Disaster Awareness Week from 11-15 October 2010. The NDMO is holding a National Disaster Exercise in Nadi as part of a program to ensure that Fiji's vulnerable populations build their capacity to be resilient to the risks and impacts of future natural hazards. The exercise will include a commemoration of International Day for Disaster Reduction.
