IDDRR: Family and Community Resilience Fair Year III

Organizer(s) City Government of Makati
Venue
Quadrangle, Makati City Hall, J.P. Rizal St., Brgy. Poblacion
Date

Since 2011, the City Government of Makati has joined the world in observing the International Day for Disaster Reduction in 13 October. Makati City's campaign this year seeks to create a wave of awareness about actions taken to reduce impact of disasters, especially to the critical infrastructure and disruption of basic services in Makati.

To highlight this year's theme, the City of Makati will showcase a mini simulation exercise (simex) of its earthquake response capacity outlined in the City's Earthquake Contingency Plan. The simex will showcase the activation of Incident Command, initial response among local response agencies, self-help and mutual help among community members, and the engagement of partner service providers to response the immediate needs of the Makatizens (Makati's constituents). This year will also mark the third year of the Family and Community Resilience Fair. The fair aims to build the capacity of individuals and the community through fun-filled activities designed not only for adults and children.
