ضمن برنامج المنتدى الحضري الفلسطيني الأول، والذي سيعقد في جامعة النجاح الوطنية خلال الفترة 27 – 28 اذار 2012، تم تخصيص جلسة خاصة للمدن الآمنة والحد من مخاطر الكوارث، وخلال هذه الجلسة سيستعرض د. جلال الدبيك مدير مركز التخطيط الحضري والحد من مخاطر الكوارث في جامعة النجاح الوطنية العناصر الأساسية لجعل المدن قادرة على مجابهة الكوارث، وسيتم مناقشة هذه العناصر مع ممثلي عدد من البلديات وهيئات الحكم المحلي وعدد من المؤسسات التي تعمل في مجال الكوارث، وسيتم خلال هذه الجلسة مناقشة مفاهيم الإستراتيجية الدولية للحد من الكوارث، واطار عمل هيوغو للعقد 2005 – 2015، والتعرف على أهم أسس ومفاهيم الإستراتيجية العربية للحد من مخاطر الكوارث 2011 – 2020. وإضافة، إلى د. جلال الدبيك، سيشارك في الحديث في هذه الجلسة كمتحدثين رئيسيين كل من السيد مدير عام الدفاع المدني اللواء احمد رزق، والمهندس عبد الحكيم الجوهري، والمهندس محمود عبد الله، والمهندسة شيرين الناظر.

موعد عقد الجلسه: الأربعاء 28 م3/ 2012 خلال الفترة 11:45- 12:15 ظهراً.

المكان: معهد النجاح المتميز لتكنولوجيا المعلومات (المعهد الكوري) ، الحرم الجامعي الجديد.

Under the auspices of His Excellency Prime Minister, Dr. Salam Fayyad

The Organizing Committee of the First Palestinian Urban Forum is pleased to invite you to participate in the First Palestinian Urban Forum which will be organized at the Prince Turki Bin Abdul Aziz Theater, New Campus, An-Najah National University between March 27th and 29th 2012

In addition to the Forum's Exhibition and the Photo Gallery and Paintings Exhibition which will also be organized as part of the event.

The forum will discuss many important issues related to urban development and the future of cities, towns and urban areas, land and housing in Palestine. The main objective of the Palestinian Urban Forum (PUF1) is to foster policy and public debate on the current situation and perspectives of urban development in Palestine.

In details, the Forum seeks to achieve the following objectives:

1. Highlighting the current state of urban development in the Palestinian territory;
2. Addressing the challenges and constraints facing the urban development and the planning process in the Palestinian Territory;
3. Exploring opportunities towards a sustainable urban development;
4. Debating the roles, responsibilities, and functions entrusted to the various actors involved in the urban development process (the government sector, academic, and private sectors);
5. Exchange of experiences among the participants and benefiting from regional and international experiences;
6. Propose recommendations for urban development and planning under the current national circumstances;
7. To create a strong technical link for the Palestinian participation in the World Urban Forum (WUF6) organized by UN-HABITAT on 1-7 September 2012 in Napoli, Italy.

Special sessions will be organized to debate on specific urban issues. Special session 1 will address safer cities and the mitigating measures to reduce the dangers of disasters.

During the First Palestinian Urban Forum, to be held at An-Najah National University on 27th-28th of March 2012, Dr. Jalal Dabbeek, Director of the Urban Planning and Disaster Risk Reduction Center at An-Najah, will hold a special session on safe cities and disaster risk reduction in order to review the basic elements necessary to make cities resilient to disasters.

Discussion will be held with representatives from a number of municipalities, local government bodies and institutions working in the field of disasters. Additionally, the participants will discuss concepts from the United Nations International Strategy for Disaster Reduction UNISDR, Hyogo Framework for Action 2005-2015, as well as the key principles and concepts of the Arab Strategy for Disaster Risk Reduction 2011-2020.

The session will also include participation from Mr. Ahmed Riziq, Director General of Civil Defense, Engineer Abdel Hakeem Al-Jouhari, Engineer Mahmoud Abdullah and Engineer Shireen Al-Nather.

Time and date: Wednesday, March 28th 2012 from 10:45 am to 12:15 pm.

Venue: The Korean-Palestinian IT Institute of Excellence – New Campus.
