Climate change 2021: Summary for all

Everyone is experiencing climate change, the change in average weather conditions in a particular place due to natural causes or caused by human activities. Rising temperatures, changes in precipitation, and an increase in extreme weather events are all examples of climate change, but there are many others.

This document is a plain-language summary of the IPCC Working Group I climate change report released in August 2021. It was written by members of the Working Group I Technical Support Unit (WGI TSU) and several authors of the report. Additionally, many volunteers offered feedback and guidance along the way.
