Handicap International, a French international non-government organisation working on behalf of persons with disability (PWDs) in over 60 countries worldwide, is currently seeking the following:
Responsibilities:
* Lead the work with local partners in Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) to ensure that disability issues are included in their plans and activities
* Lead the support to PWD, their families and organizations to participate in inclusive CBDRM activities
* Support, accompany and monitor disability focused organizations to be prepared to meet PWD’s specific needs in case of a natural disaster
Requirements:
* Bachelor’s Degree
* 5 to 7 years of relevant work experience in the areas disability and/or disaster risk management
* Excellent ability to quickly grasp and synthesize inputs from a range of disciplines related to disability, disaster risks management and development
* Good communication and interpersonal skills, team oriented work style, interest and experience of working in multi-cultural environment
* Self-motivated, able to multitask and meet deadlines
* Demonstrated ability to work with minimum supervision
