Regional programme manager LAC
This job posting has closed
Oxfam has been working in parts of Latin American and the Caribbean for over fifty years. While many of these areas have healthy, thriving communities, there’s still plenty to be done in the way of developing social movements and tackling inequality.
Be challenged
You’ll be leading on a key programme priority in the region, making sure Oxfam GB in LAC has the management, technical and logistical capacity to deal with it. Whether you’re representing Oxfam with government officials and multilateral organizations, the donor community, partners or assessing emergency situations in the field, you’ll make sure it’s coordinated and comprehensive to achieve lasting change. You’ll also handle national and international media, lead the programme budget and act as a valuable link between Oxfam and a wide range of field staff.
Be involved
With strengths in people leadership and management, partnership, private sectors, not to mention extensive knowledge of the political and economic systems within LAC, you’ll be well on the way to bringing widespread stability right across the region. You’ll need experience in either livelihoods, governance, political leadership for women and indigenous people or disaster risk reduction and adaptation to climate change and a sound understanding of NGO/Red Cross Code Of Conduct. Just the same, you’ll be sensitive to cross-cultural differences and environments, with the strategic know-how to adapt whole programmes to meet Oxfam’s approach to gender and diversity. Good written and spoken English and Spanish is a must.
Be Oxfam
A simple, inescapable truth underlines everything we do at Oxfam. There’s enough wealth in this world to go around. It’s not unfortunate that people live in poverty. It’s unjustifiable. It’s not their problem. It’s ours too. And with the right support, we can beat poverty and injustice. More than 4,000 people already commit their time and talents to our campaigning, humanitarian and long-term development projects. Now we’re looking for yours.
