Mission
The Institute aims to advance critical scholarship, promote inter-disciplinary dialogue and amplify grassroots perspectives in collaboration with national partners, international organizations and leading universities.
The philosophy, ideas and actions of the organization focus on pluralistic, participatory and sustainable development and seek to challenge the narrow theoretical and policy approaches derived from unitary models of development.
The institute incorporates five function-based operational units – Public Policy, Social Policy, Ecology and Environment, Working Lives and Social Protection, and Perspective Building and Policy Literacy.
Voluntary Commitments
The Sendai Framework Voluntary Commitments (SFVC) online platform allows stakeholders to inform the public about their work on DRR. The SFVC online platform is a useful toolto know who is doing what and where for the implementation of the Sendai Framework, which could foster potential collaboration among stakeholders. All stakeholders (private sector, civil society organizations, academia, media, local governments, etc.) working on DRR can submit their commitments and report on their progress and deliverables.
