Special report: Preparing for the era of disasters

It begins with a summary of the latest science on the impacts of climate change, drawing on the recently released UN Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) Global warming of 1.5°C special report.

Next, it explains why the dire findings of the scientific community in that report are likely to underestimate the future impacts, due to the difficulty of fully integrating compounding and cascading climate effects into the research and analysis.
