Future flood prevention
Second Report of Session 2016-17
This report of the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Efra) Committee is calling for an overhaul of flood management in England (United Kingdom) to tackle the rising risk to communities from climate change in a report on future flood prevention.
The report makes the following recommendations:
- a new National Floods Commissioner for England should be established;
- catchment measures need to be adopted on a much wider scale;
- flood risk communications must be simplified;
- resilience must be improved.
