VCA toolbox: with reference sheets
VCA toolbox – The third publication is a description of research methods and instruction in how to use a variety of information-gathering techniques.
This revised guide and related publications seek to address the issues and questions highlighted by the evaluation and make the VCA process more ‘user-friendly’. National Societies are therefore encouraged to seek support from those who already have experience
of and training in VCA.
Vulnerability and capacity assessment (VCA) is a method of investigation into the risks that people face in their locality, their vulnerability to those risks and their capacity to cope with and recover from disasters.
This toolbox looks at different participatory investigative tools that can be used by National Society staff and volunteers to accomplish a successful VCA.
This is a part of a series of publications on VCA: What is VCA?, How to do a VCA, VCA training guide the fourth publication and VCA: Lessons learned and recommendations.
