Suriname National Disaster Preparedness Baseline Assessment District Profiles

This report presents natural hazard risk assessment results for Suriname's districts. For instance, vulnerability in Brokopondo district is primarily driven by education vulnerability and economic constraints. The same district exhibits weaker coping capacity in the areas of public health capacity and energy and technology capacity.

In Commewijne district, vulnerability seems to be drive by population pressures and economic constraints, while the district exhibits weaker coping capacity in similar areas than Brokopondo district. In Coronie district, vulnerability is driven by children's vulnerability and population pressures. The specific district exhibits similar coping capacity levels as Commewijne and Brokopondo districts.
