World Health Organization Bulletin (2015), Volume 93, Number 6, June 2015, p. 362, doi: http://dx.doi.org/10.2471/BLT.15.157362
The editorial discusses the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction 2015-2030 from the perspective of human health and well-being. It notes that the substantial emphasis on health issues in the framework is a welcome development, and advocates for coordinated action across local, national, regional and international levels provided for by the framework to build on the synergies across disaster risk reduction, the sustainable development goals and climate change policy. Finally, the editorial recommends enhanced management of disaster risks through capacity development and joint policy initiatives between the health sector and other sectors.Explore further
