The Rio Conventions: action on adaptation

This document, published in conjunction with the Rio+20 Conference, addresses the climate change adaptation measures taken by three UN bodies, UNCCD, UNFCCC and CBD, under the Rio Conventions.

The document is comprised of three sections: (i) the first section presents an overview of the policies and programs currently in place using anecdotes from the field to demonstrate successful climate change adaptation strategies; (ii) the second section points to the challenges and opportunities for growth in the climate change adaptation plans of these three UN organizations; and (iii) the third section concludes the document, asserting the success of the Rio Conventions in encouraging adaptation at all levels.
