Post-2015 DRR framework for SAARC region (HFA2) SDMC

This document presents the outcome of the deliberations from regional consultations and expert group meetings to define the global priorities of the World Conference for Disaster Risk Reduction in 2015 and also for various stakeholders in the South Asia Region to set their priorities for development, climate change adaptation and disaster risk reduction.

Based on the Regional Framework for Disaster Management developed for the South Asia region in 2006 in line with the Hyogo framework for Action, it presents the major achievements made by SAARC as a region to implement the framework. The document argues that the link between disaster and development has been appreciated by all the countries in the region and that each of the countries has developed its own disaster management framework emphasizing the mainstreaming of disaster risk reduction in development planning process.
