Plano nacional de proteção e defesa civil

The National Secretariat for Protection and Civil Defense (Sedec), of the Ministry of Integration and Regional Development (MIDR), is the central body of the National System for Protection and Civil Defense (Sinpdec). It is responsible for coordinating the development, revisions, and monitoring of the National Protection and Civil Defense Plan (PN PDC), which covers the period from 2025 to 2035.

Established under Law No. 12.608/2012, which created the National Policy for Protection and Civil Defense (PNPDEC), the PN PDC 2025-2035 comprises a set of principles, guidelines, objectives, and targets, agreed upon within social, technical, and political spheres, that guide national strategies for disaster risk reduction and disaster management (RGRD). These strategies are to be implemented by the federal government, states, the Federal District, and municipalities in an integrated, coordinated, and articulated manner.
