Peru: Ley no 29664, ley que crea el Sistema Nacional de Gestion del Riesgo de Desastres (SINAGERD)
This policy regulates the objectives, composition, and operation of SINAGERD, which aims to identify and reduce the risks associated with dangers, minimize their effects, and address dangerous situations through management guidelines. The rule specifies that the law applies to all public entities and companies at all levels of government, the private sector, and citizens in general.
Likewise, it defines disaster risk management, as well as establishes the guidelines of the National Disaster Risk Management Policy and defines it as the set of guidelines aimed at preventing or reducing disaster risks, avoiding the generation of new risks and carrying out adequate preparation, care, rehabilitation and reconstruction in the event of disasters.
