Cape Verde: Criação de um Sistema de Protecção Civil, como previsto no Programa do Governo

The Commission is responsible for preparing and organizing the establishment and installation of the Civil Protection System by the Cape Verde Government Program. It is specifically responsible for preparing and submitting to the Prime Minister. Public bodies will provide the Commission with all the collaboration requested within the scope of its purpose.

The fundamental objectives of civil protection are to:

• Prevent the occurrence of serious accidents, catastrophes and calamities;
• Mitigate the risks inherent in the occurrence of these phenomena and limit their effects;
• Rescue and assist people in danger; and
• Contribute to the restoration of normality in the affected areas.
