National Survey for Seismic Protection (NSSP) of Armenia

This publication provides a comprehensive description of NSSP of Armenia, including its structure, particularities, objectives and achievements in seismic risk reduction. It presents the structure and main tasks of its main bodies such as Seismic Hazard Assessment Complex Center, Earthquake Engineering Center, Seismic Knowledge Dissemination Center, Rescue Brigade, National Observation Network Administration and Center of Data Collection and Measuring Systems Operation.

The publication provides technical analysis of Armenia’s non-conventional approaches for enhancing earthquake resistance of existing buildings. It also presents country’s participation in international cooperation projects and provides the full text of Yerevan Declaration which was adopted at the Second International Conference on Earthquake Hazard and Seismic Risk Reduction, held in Yerevan, Armenia on 15-21 September 1998.
