HazNet issue - Inspiring Resilience
This issue of HazNet, the Magazine of the Canadian Risks and Hazards Network, focuses on Inspiring Resilience, the theme of the 2016 Canadian Risks and Hazards Network Annual Symposium which takes place in Montreal (Canada) immediately following the National Roundtable on Disaster Risk Reduction. The articles in this issue exemplify a growing field of research and practice of Indigenous disaster resilience. This HazNet issue provides an opportunity to engage Canadians directly, broaden dialogue about disaster risk and risk reduction and support local efforts to build community disaster resilience.
The issue brings together some of the key lessons within Canada and internationally on indigenous disaster resilience. This publication is comprised of the following:
- interviews on community resilience;
- lessons learned regarding disaster mitigation; and
- research stories on resilience building in Canada and other countries.
