Epidemic preparedness in Indonesia: case study
This case study outlines the adaptation and roll-out of an Epidemic Control for Volunteers' (ECV) Toolkit and Training Manual in Indonesia by the Indonesian Red Cross (Palang Merah Indonesia) in 2014.
It includes background on the country's health-related vulnerabilities; the role that Palang Merah Indonesia plays in supporting the government's health authorities; the application, outcomes and challenges of the intervention; and finally, recommendations for other organisation's and Red Cross and Red Crescent national societies intending to carry out similar initiatives.
