Efforts of developing countries in assessing and meeting the costs of adaptation: Lessons learned and good practices
This synthesis report, the second in the series, is focused on “Efforts of developing countries in assessing and meeting the costs of adaptation.” The objective of the report is to synthesize relevant lessons, insights, and good practices in developing country Parties, with respect to i) assessing the costs of adaptation and ii) meeting the costs of adaptation. The synthesis is based on a review of national reports submitted to the UNFCCC secretariat, including NDCs, NAPs, Adcoms, TNAs, and TAPs, other relevant reports under the UNFCCC, reports from the operating entities of the UNFCCC financial mechanism and other relevant literature.
The CMA, in its decision 11/CMA.1, requested the secretariat, under the guidance of the AC and the LEG, and in collaboration with relevant stakeholders, to prepare synthesis reports every two years. These reports focus on specific adaptation themes, providing relevant lessons learned and good practices in developing country Parties, in the context of the recognition of their adaptation efforts.
