WFP’s role in strengthening forecasting capabilities in Eastern Africa: South to South peer support between Djibouti and Ethiopia National Meteorological and Hydrological Services

This factsheet showcases how the World Food Programme (WFP) facilitated a peer-to-peer exchange between Ethiopia and Djibouti’s meteorological agencies to strengthen drought forecasting and early warning systems.

Building on Ethiopia’s experience, the collaboration enhanced Djibouti’s technical capacities to support anticipatory action, contributing to regional efforts under the Early Warning for All initiative.
