UN-Water GLAAS 2025: State of systems for drinking-water, sanitation and hygiene – global update 2025
The UN-Water Global Analysis and Assessment of Sanitation and Drinking-Water (GLAAS) 2025 report examines the status of key components of national drinking-water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) systems, including policies, plans, institutional arrangements and national targets; monitoring, review and the use of data for decision-making; regulation and surveillance; human resources; and finance.
In addition to presenting a global snapshot, the report includes analysis disaggregated by participating country, WASH subsector, Sustainable Development Goal region and income group, among others. The key findings from the climate and WAASH section are provided below:
- 80% of countries are addressing risks of climate variability and climate change to WASH services in WASH policies/plans
- 73% of countries are addressing climate resilience of WASH technologies and management systems in WASH policies/plans
- 57% of countries are performing climate risk assessments
