The report illustrates the landscape and history of how adaptation has been approached throughout the lifetime of the international climate change process under the UNFCCC and Paris Agreement.
The fabric of institutions goals, and frameworks, under the Convention and Paris Agreement process – as well as the engagement of United Nations agencies and other stakeholders engaged with the process – will continue to evolve as the world confronts the increasingly urgent challenge of climate change. This dynamism is built into the system: regular reviews of existing bodies, the periodic global stocktake, and regular negotiation sessions all offer avenues to course correct where adjustments are needed
