2025 Climate and health policy priorities for Australia

This document summarises key priority areas of focus for Australia, supported by evidence from the 2025 Global Report of the Lancet Countdown. Strengthening Australia’s response to the health impacts of climate change requires coordinated action across governance, finance, and regulation. Establishing a National Clean Air Framework with WHO-aligned. The actions outlined in this document, if implemented, aim to  generate fiscal space to reinvest in adaptation, resilience, and just transition initiatives that protect health and communities.

3. Redirect fossil fuel subsidies towards health and climate resilience
