Building Research and Information: Managing the risks from natural hazards
Vol.32 No. 5 of Building Research and Information focuses on management of risks from extreme natural environmental events, commonly termed “natural hazards”. The articles examine not only technical issues of construction and building management, but also considers legal, political, social, economic, cultural and aesthetic aspects.The authors argue that the design of policy, future building regualtions and the future agenda of building research can benefit from the inclusion of the understanding and management of risk into the wider definition and scope of the built environment.
