Best practices and case studies on disaster management: the Maharashtra experience

This document attempts to capture some of the best practices and case studies from disaster management initiatives of the Government of Maharashtra. Some of these activities are the offshoots of the Disaster Risk Management (DRM) programme launched by the Government of India and UNDP. It presents a number of innovative strategies and processes that have been adopted and which lead to very interesting and encouraging results. It intends to be used as a reference material for different stakeholders of disaster management.
