Accelerating private sector engagement in adaptation in Asia and the Pacific

This working paper outlines how to scale up the private sector's involvement in climate adaptation and harness its financial clout, technical know-how, and ingenuity to help build climate resilient economies in the Asia and Pacific region.
The paper assesses the role businesses currently play and looks at the technical, financial, and institutional hurdles they face. It explores financing options and underscores the importance of companies becoming “solution providers”. Analyzing climate threats and adaptation opportunities for businesses, it shows how organizations such as ADB can accelerate and guide private sector involvement to help support disaster-resilient development in the region.
