Voices Unheard: from Pyrenees to Kibera
Mission
Voices Unheard: from Pyrenees to Kibera (VU:PK) connects young people from the French Pyrenees and Nairobi’s Kibera to make their voices heard in climate policy. Both regions face recurring floods, droughts, and infrastructure gaps that endanger livelihoods and resilience. The project empowers marginalised youth through research, workshops, and direct policy dialogues with the European Commission, African Union, and local authorities. By gathering lived experiences and transforming them into concrete policy recommendations, it bridges the gap between communities and decision-makers. Through social media campaigns, advocacy events, and a 30-minute documentary. The project builds visibility for youth-led climate action and aims to achieve change at the policy level.
Voluntary Commitments
The Sendai Framework Voluntary Commitments (SFVC) online platform allows stakeholders to inform the public about their work on DRR. The SFVC online platform is a useful toolto know who is doing what and where for the implementation of the Sendai Framework, which could foster potential collaboration among stakeholders. All stakeholders (private sector, civil society organizations, academia, media, local governments, etc.) working on DRR can submit their commitments and report on their progress and deliverables.
