New research has quantified the losses associated with 137 pathogens and pests in five major food crops. Losses are substantial and vary across critical sources of the global food system. The research provides a measure of past advances and a springboard for future progress, research and policy prioritisation concerning crop health management.
This programme is for students who want to become experts in applying state-of-the-art remote sensing and GIS technology for the modelling and assessment of natural hazards and disaster risk, and the use of this information in disaster risk reduction.
DescriptionThis online training course provides an introduction to the use of geo-information for multi-hazard risk assessment, including natural hazard assessment, elements at risk maping and vulnerability evaluati
The Red Cross and the University of Twente have presented a research chair in name of Her Royal Highness Princess Margriet of the Netherlands, on the occasion of her 75th birthday. Established within the ITC Faculty of Geo-information Science and Earth Observation at the University of Twente, the chair will focus its research activities around the theme of Spatial Resilience for Disaster Risk Reduction.
The International Conference on “Geospatial Technologies for Sustainable Urban and Rural Development” is jointly organised by the College of Science and Technology of the University of Rwanda, through its research Centre for Geographic Information
Background
This course is the collaborative effort of three organizations, the Asian Disaster Preparedness Center (ADPC), The Geoinformatics Center of the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) and the University of Twente (ITC).
Voluntary Commitments
The organization has no registered commitments.
The Sendai Framework Voluntary Commitments (SFVC) online platform allows stakeholders to inform the public about their work on DRR. The SFVC online platform is a useful toolto know who is doing what and where for the implementation of the Sendai Framework, which could foster potential collaboration among stakeholders. All stakeholders (private sector, civil society organizations, academia, media, local governments, etc.) working on DRR can submit their commitments and report on their progress and deliverables.
