Mission
Samuel Hall is a social enterprise that conducts research, evaluates programmes, and designs policies in contexts of migration and displacement. Our approach is ethical, academically rigorous, and based on first-hand experience of complex and fragile settings. Samuel Hall turns evidence into action and impact – at scale.
The Karamoja Strong Programme is a three-year, Danida-funded consortium (2025–2027) led by the Danish Refugee Council (DRC) with APaD, African Women Rising and Samuel Hall. It builds community resilience to climate- and conflict-related shocks in the Kenya–Uganda borderlands of Turkana, West Pokot and Karamoja. Samuel Hall leads the programme's research and learning, and co-leads cross-border climate policy engagement with DRC. This includes participatory scenario planning forums that bring together indigenous traditional knowledge (ITK) and seasonal forecasts to produce community advisories ahead of each rainy season.

Voluntary Commitments
The Sendai Framework Voluntary Commitments (SFVC) online platform allows stakeholders to inform the public about their work on DRR. The SFVC online platform is a useful toolto know who is doing what and where for the implementation of the Sendai Framework, which could foster potential collaboration among stakeholders. All stakeholders (private sector, civil society organizations, academia, media, local governments, etc.) working on DRR can submit their commitments and report on their progress and deliverables.
