Mission
Climate change is accelerating, with increasingly violent impacts threatening the lives of thousands of people and species. If nothing is done to reduce greenhouse gas emissions (GHG), the victims will soon be in the millions.
Finance is a critical lever in the fight against climate change. But today, mainstream finance remains at odds with the objectives of social and climate justice.
Despite the growing popularity of sustainable finance themes, almost all financial services are devoted to the development of practices based on the consumption of fossil fuels and the overexploitation of natural resources.
Reclaim Finance intends to play a role of citizen counter-power because the current action is not enough. Nothing allows us to affirm that the new tools of “green finance” have a real positive impact. We therefore follow and analyze the activities of financial actors to propose an alternative deciphering and expose their real impacts.
Voluntary Commitments
The Sendai Framework Voluntary Commitments (SFVC) online platform allows stakeholders to inform the public about their work on DRR. The SFVC online platform is a useful toolto know who is doing what and where for the implementation of the Sendai Framework, which could foster potential collaboration among stakeholders. All stakeholders (private sector, civil society organizations, academia, media, local governments, etc.) working on DRR can submit their commitments and report on their progress and deliverables.
