Profonanpe (Peruvian Trust Fund for National Parks and Protected Areas)
Mission
The Peruvian Trust Fund for National Parks and Protected Areas (Profonanpe) is a national entity and an environmental fund located in Peru. Its mandate is to provide stable and long-term funding as well as to develop and implement innovative strategies for conservation and management of protected areas.
Its partnerships at local, national, and international levels with donors have allowed it to address climate change issues such as deforestation and forest degradation as well as to develop climate change projects and programmes, particularly in the areas of environment, agriculture and livestock.
Voluntary Commitments
The Sendai Framework Voluntary Commitments (SFVC) online platform allows stakeholders to inform the public about their work on DRR. The SFVC online platform is a useful toolto know who is doing what and where for the implementation of the Sendai Framework, which could foster potential collaboration among stakeholders. All stakeholders (private sector, civil society organizations, academia, media, local governments, etc.) working on DRR can submit their commitments and report on their progress and deliverables.
