Mission
Pew Research Center is a nonpartisan fact tank that informs the public about the issues, attitudes and trends shaping the world. The Center generates a foundation of facts that enriches the public dialogue and supports sound decision-making. The Center's empirical research on a wide range of topics helps U.S. and international policymakers, civic leaders, educators and the public at large understand and address some of the world’s most challenging problems. The Center's public opinion surveys allow the voice of the people to be heard, and its demographic, economic and political analyses provide context to understand how the world is changing.
Voluntary Commitments
The Sendai Framework Voluntary Commitments (SFVC) online platform allows stakeholders to inform the public about their work on DRR. The SFVC online platform is a useful toolto know who is doing what and where for the implementation of the Sendai Framework, which could foster potential collaboration among stakeholders. All stakeholders (private sector, civil society organizations, academia, media, local governments, etc.) working on DRR can submit their commitments and report on their progress and deliverables.
