The Sendai Framework Voluntary Commitments (SFVC) online platform allows stakeholders to inform the public about their work on DRR. The SFVC online platform is a useful toolto know who is doing what and where for the implementation of the Sendai Framework, which could foster potential collaboration among stakeholders. All stakeholders (private sector, civil society organizations, academia, media, local governments, etc.) working on DRR can submit their commitments and report on their progress and deliverables.

According to new research, the world needs to keep global temperatures in check by meeting the goals set out in the Paris Agreement or more people could die because of extreme temperatures. Results indicate dramatic increases of heat-related deaths under extreme warming (3°C and 4°C) compared to the mildest threshold (1.5°C).
A study of the potential temperature-related health impacts of climate change shows that as global temperatures rise, the surge in death rates during heatwaves outweighs any decrease in deaths in cold weather. This will result in many regions facing a sharp net increase in mortality rates.
