The Mexican Institute of Water Technology (IMTA), as the technological arm of the water sector, has among its main responsibilities the training of human resources to strengthen the institutional capacities of the main actors in the environment. With an interdisciplinary team of more than 300 hydraulic specialists, most with postgraduate level in their different technical areas: Hydraulics, Hydrology, Water Treatment and Quality, Professional and Institutional Development, Irrigation and Drainage, and Communication, Participation and Information; IMTA contributes to the dissemination of knowledge for sustainable water management in Mexico.
The Sendai Framework Voluntary Commitments (SFVC) online platform allows stakeholders to inform the public about their work on DRR. The SFVC online platform is a useful toolto know who is doing what and where for the implementation of the Sendai Framework, which could foster potential collaboration among stakeholders. All stakeholders (private sector, civil society organizations, academia, media, local governments, etc.) working on DRR can submit their commitments and report on their progress and deliverables.
