Mission

IMPETUS was launched in October 2021 to help accelerate Europe’s climate adaptation strategy and meet the European Union’s ambitions to become the world’s first climate-neutral continent by 2050. Its objective is to turn climate commitments into tangible, urgent actions to protect communities and the planet.

With 32 partner organisations based in 9 European countries, IMPETUS is one of several EU-funded projects that are coordinating on climate adaptation.

Voluntary Commitments

The Sendai Framework Voluntary Commitments (SFVC) online platform allows stakeholders to inform the public about their work on DRR. The SFVC online platform is a useful toolto know who is doing what and where for the implementation of the Sendai Framework, which could foster potential collaboration among stakeholders. All stakeholders (private sector, civil society organizations, academia, media, local governments, etc.) working on DRR can submit their commitments and report on their progress and deliverables.
