Mission
Toronto Emergency Management (TEM), formerly the Toronto Office of Emergency Management, is a municipal division and office of emergency management for the City of Toronto responsible for coordinating emergency preparedness, response, and recovery efforts for the municipal government in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Toronto Emergency Management helps to coordinate the city's emergency response and recovery efforts through various city divisions and agencies, provincial and federal governments, non-governmental organizations, and private sector partners, to ensure the city is prepared to handle natural disasters, public health emergencies, technological incidents, and other crises. It is also responsible for the City’s Emergency Plan and the Emergency Operations Centre.
With a comprehensive Emergency Plan PDF in place, the City of Toronto is prepared to effectively handle all emergencies. The Emergency Plan details the methods in which the City mobilizes its resources during a crisis and ensures all City organizations, emergency response services and key agencies are fully aware of their respective roles and responsibilities during an emergency. The goal is to respond and reduce the impact of a public emergency and restore the municipality to a normal state as soon as possible.

The Sendai Framework Voluntary Commitments (SFVC) online platform allows stakeholders to inform the public about their work on DRR. The SFVC online platform is a useful toolto know who is doing what and where for the implementation of the Sendai Framework, which could foster potential collaboration among stakeholders. All stakeholders (private sector, civil society organizations, academia, media, local governments, etc.) working on DRR can submit their commitments and report on their progress and deliverables.
