Mission
Andorra is a sovereign parliamentary co-principality in southwestern Europe with a democratic system of government rooted in its 1993 constitution. Headed by two co-princes and led in day-to-day affairs by the Cap de Govern (Head of Government), the executive authority oversees national administration and public policy.
In terms of disaster risk reduction and related planning, Andorra’s formal national platform for DRR is relatively recent and under development. The National Civil Protection Commission has been established to coordinate emergency response planning and activation systems for specific risks — including those exacerbated by climate change — but comprehensive strategic DRR frameworks, such as long-term risk reduction policies, are still evolving. Operational emergency plans exist to organize responses by emergency teams according to risk levels, but broader strategic projects related to reducing disaster risk in the context of climate change are at an early stage.

Voluntary Commitments
The Sendai Framework Voluntary Commitments (SFVC) online platform allows stakeholders to inform the public about their work on DRR. The SFVC online platform is a useful toolto know who is doing what and where for the implementation of the Sendai Framework, which could foster potential collaboration among stakeholders. All stakeholders (private sector, civil society organizations, academia, media, local governments, etc.) working on DRR can submit their commitments and report on their progress and deliverables.
