Mission
Gothenburg 400 is a news, features, events and current affairs portal reporting locally, regionally and nationally in Sweden, but with a global perspective.
Journalism in the 21st century is battling to reinvent its role in the backdrop of ubiquitous online media and dwindling offline media. The website strives to provide utilitarian information for readers as its defining principle. Articles and multimedia content are published on a weekly basis.
The website focuses primarily on the utility of information for residents, visitors and tourists. As per the website's tagline (…of…for…from…), the website is all about Gothenburg in Västra Götaland Region of Sweden. The website publishes information that is usable for insiders and outsiders, ranging from housing and health issues to languages, IT and innovations. This broad array of content will bridge the gap between Gothenburg and the world, while enriching the flow of information, goods, services and cultural nuance.
In this endeavour, Gothenburg 400 will report about the cities, people, products, companies, cafés, educational institutions and sports that are locally relevant and globally significant.
Voluntary Commitments
The Sendai Framework Voluntary Commitments (SFVC) online platform allows stakeholders to inform the public about their work on DRR. The SFVC online platform is a useful toolto know who is doing what and where for the implementation of the Sendai Framework, which could foster potential collaboration among stakeholders. All stakeholders (private sector, civil society organizations, academia, media, local governments, etc.) working on DRR can submit their commitments and report on their progress and deliverables.
