The long-term objective of the German Adaptation Strategy is to reduce the vulnerability of natural, social and economic systems and to maintain and improve their capacity to adapt to the inevitable impacts of global climate change.
The United Nations General Assembly endorsed on 2 February 2017 the recommendations of the Open-ended Intergovernmental Expert Working Group on indicators and terminology relating to disaster risk reduction (OIEWG) through the adoption of the A/71/644.

The Sendai Framework Voluntary Commitments (SFVC) online platform allows stakeholders to inform the public about their work on DRR. The SFVC online platform is a useful toolto know who is doing what and where for the implementation of the Sendai Framework, which could foster potential collaboration among stakeholders. All stakeholders (private sector, civil society organizations, academia, media, local governments, etc.) working on DRR can submit their commitments and report on their progress and deliverables.
