Mission
The European Correspondent believes the Europe’s biggest challenges – climate change, migration, defence, AI – can only be solved if Europe acts together. Journalism that explains how decisions have consequences across borders – whether it's EU policy or emerging ideas that will shape our lives is very important. Their correspondents from every country in Europe combine local expertise with a European perspective to help our readers grasp the institutions and patterns that affect them.
In November 2022, they launched The European Correspondent.
The European Correspondent is supported by the foundation for media diversity (Stiftung für Medienvielfalt). The foundation’s mission is to strengthen media diversity in favour of an open and tolerant society.
Voluntary Commitments
The Sendai Framework Voluntary Commitments (SFVC) online platform allows stakeholders to inform the public about their work on DRR. The SFVC online platform is a useful toolto know who is doing what and where for the implementation of the Sendai Framework, which could foster potential collaboration among stakeholders. All stakeholders (private sector, civil society organizations, academia, media, local governments, etc.) working on DRR can submit their commitments and report on their progress and deliverables.
