Community Support Center (CSC-Asbl)
Mission
Community Support Center (CSC-Asbl) is a grassroots, non-profit organization based in Eastern Democratic Republic of Congo. Their mission is to support women, children, and vulnerable communities affected by conflict, displacement, climate-related disasters, and social exclusion. Through mental health and psychosocial support, peacebuilding, education, environmental management, child safeguarding, and livelihood programs, they empower communities to build resilience, restore dignity, and create sustainable futures. Guided by their values of dignity, humanity, and solidarity, they work to strengthen local leadership and community-driven solutions to complex humanitarian and development challenges.
CSC-Asbl implements community-based disaster risk reduction and climate resilience initiatives across conflict-affected communities in Eastern DR Congo. Their activities include tree planting and reforestation to combat erosion, landslides, deforestation, and climate change impacts; environmental education and climate awareness campaigns; sustainable agriculture and natural resource management; community mobilization for environmental protection; and resilience-building programs for displaced and vulnerable populations.
Through their Play4Peace and Mental Health Support (P4PM) program, they use sport as an innovative platform to educate children and youth about climate change, environmental protection, peacebuilding, and community resilience. We engage young people as environmental ambassadors who participate in tree planting, community clean-up campaigns, and awareness activities promoting sustainable practices.
CSC-Asbl also supports disaster-affected communities through psychosocial support, child protection, community preparedness, and local leadership development, helping communities anticipate, withstand, and recover from crises while strengthening social cohesion.

Voluntary Commitments
The Sendai Framework Voluntary Commitments (SFVC) online platform allows stakeholders to inform the public about their work on DRR. The SFVC online platform is a useful toolto know who is doing what and where for the implementation of the Sendai Framework, which could foster potential collaboration among stakeholders. All stakeholders (private sector, civil society organizations, academia, media, local governments, etc.) working on DRR can submit their commitments and report on their progress and deliverables.
