Mission
CJUC-FM "The Juice" is a community radio station in Whitehorse, Yukon, operated by the nonprofit Utilities Consumers' Group. The station plays a vital role in promoting cultural enrichment and diversity through a broad range of music and spoken-word programming that’s distinct from other local stations. It also serves as an important resource for the community by providing training opportunities in audio and radio technology and offering a platform for local talent to develop and showcase their skills.
CJUC features music from all over the world as well as various genres and emphasises supporting Whitehorse’s vibrant music scene by promoting both emerging and established local artists. Importantly, CJUC also functions as a vital communication tool for emergency alerting, keeping residents informed and safe during critical local events or hazards, in addition to its daily community-building efforts.
The station uses open source software that automatically receives unattended emergency Common Alert Protocol (CAP) messages. This system ensures that critical alerts are promptly received and processed without the need for manual intervention.
Emergency alerting is automated and unattended, meaning important alerts are received at all times via open source solutions running the studio.

The SFVC online platform is a useful toolto know who is doing what and where for the implementation of the Sendai Framework, which could foster potential collaboration among stakeholders. All stakeholders (private sector, civil society organizations, academia, media, local governments, etc.) working on DRR can submit their commitments and report on their progress and deliverables.
