The National Strategy on Climate Change is a national policy with a cross-sectoral approach and has two annexes: the National Action Plan on Mitigation (NAPM) and the National Adaptation Plan (NAP).
The National Disaster Risk Reduction Strategy in Albania is the underlying document for all future disaster risk management activities and investments as well as other relevant civil protection, response, recovery and development planning documents.
On 6th December, the Government of Albania requested support from the European Union, the United Nations, and the World Bank to undertake a full and comprehensive PDNA to identify the damage, losses, and recovery needs arising from the earthquake.
The purpose of this Law is to reduce disaster risks and achieve civil protection in order to guarantee the protection of human life, livestock, property, cultural heritage and environment by strengthening the civil protection system.

The Government of Albania issued a National Policy Paper on disaster risk reduction approved by Government on 21 January 2000 entitled “Policy on Civil Emergency Planning and Response”.

The Sendai Framework Voluntary Commitments (SFVC) online platform allows stakeholders to inform the public about their work on DRR. The SFVC online platform is a useful toolto know who is doing what and where for the implementation of the Sendai Framework, which could foster potential collaboration among stakeholders. All stakeholders (private sector, civil society organizations, academia, media, local governments, etc.) working on DRR can submit their commitments and report on their progress and deliverables.
