The National Strategy on Climate Change is a national policy with a cross-sectoral approach and has two annexes: the National Action Plan on Mitigation (NAPM) and the National Adaptation Plan (NAP).

The National Disaster Risk Reduction Strategy in Albania is the underlying document for all future disaster risk management activities and investments as well as other relevant civil protection, response, recovery and development planning documents.

On 6th December, the Government of Albania requested support from the European Union, the United Nations, and the World Bank to undertake a full and comprehensive PDNA to identify the damage, losses, and recovery needs arising from the earthquake.

The purpose of this Law is to reduce disaster risks and achieve civil protection in order to guarantee the protection of human life, livestock, property, cultural heritage and environment by strengthening the civil protection system.

This report reviews the availability of data in Albania, to report against the indicators recommended to measure the global targets of the Sendai Framework, and identify current gaps.

Albania's National Adaptation Plan focuses on the Governmental preparedness for a long process on climate change adaptation. It aims to help Albania minimize potential risks and utilize every opportunity that might arise from climate change.
